Smoky Mountain Notary provides professional jail and detention-facility notary services throughout Knox, Sevier, and Jefferson Counties.
We regularly notarize documents for incarcerated signers, including:
An attorney does not need to be present. Smoky Mountain Notary can coordinate the notarization directly with the person requesting the service and the correctional facility. Some facilities may require advance approval or an appointment for notary visits.
The $150 payment is a non-refundable booking and service fee, not a deposit. It is earned when the appointment is confirmed because time is reserved, preparation and coordination are completed, travel is required, and other appointments may be declined.
The fee remains non-refundable if:
Payment does not guarantee access to the incarcerated signer or completion of the notarization.
By submitting payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this non-refundable booking and service fee policy.
Please keep in mind that jail notarizations often take longer than standard appointments because of security procedures, facility staffing, lockdowns, shift changes, and wait times. Our fees reflect the additional coordination, travel, and time involved.
Attorneys accompanying the notary to the facility may qualify for discounted rates. Please call 865-386-7398 for information.
Need notary service at a facility not listed here? Call 865-386-7398.
If I do not personally serve that location, I may be able to connect you with a trusted notary colleague elsewhere in Tennessee.

The $150 payment is a non-refundable booking and service fee, not a deposit. It is earned when the appointment is confirmed because I reserve time for the assignment, decline other appointments, prepare for the visit, and travel to the correctional facility.
The fee remains non-refundable if:
Appointments requiring more than one hour may incur additional waiting-time fees. Before the appointment, you must let me know whether you would like me to continue waiting or leave if the visit exceeds the included one-hour period.
Payment covers my reserved time, preparation, travel, waiting time, and availability. It does not guarantee that the correctional facility will provide access to the incarcerated signer or that the notarization will be completed.
