 Smoky Mountain Notary provides professional notary services for jails,  and detention facilities across Knox, Sevier, and Jefferson Counties.

We regularly notarize documents for incarcerated individuals, including:

• Powers of Attorney (General & Durable) 
• Inability to Appear forms
• Deeds of Trust
• Letters of Permission 
• Child Custody Agreements
• Release of Property
• Affidavits 
• Right to Travel forms
• DMV and Vehicle Release forms
• Real Estate Documents
• Impound Car Release 
• Inmate Property Release
• Marriage License for Incarcerated Applicant
   

An attorney does not need to be present. We handle the entire notarization process efficiently and respectfully. Please note that some facilities may require an appointment for notary visits.

• Minimum Fee: $150
  Includes one signature and up to one hour of total wait and transaction time.
  This fee is non-refundable if we are unable to meet with the inmate or if the inmate refuses to sign.
   
• Additional Time: $50 per additional half hour.
   
• Extra Signatures: $10 each for the same signer.
   
• Payment Terms:
  The $150 minimum fee is required in advance.
  Any additional time or signatures will be invoiced and due upon completion, once back in the facility lobby.
  If the notarization is unsuccessful due to unforeseen circumstances, only the signature fees are refundable.
   
• ID Required:
  The signer must provide a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport).
   

Please keep in mind that jail notarizations typically take longer due to security procedures and wait times. Our fees reflect the additional time and coordination involved.
